I think someone hacked my computer.?

While I was browsing the net I kept getting these random pop-ups. One took me to a youtube video && on the comments of the video it had alot of upset people saying things about someone hacking their computer. && now I keep getting pop-ups all over the place I never get pop-ups and the pop-ups are of womens clothing && thats what I was looking at before all this started happening. Can someone help please this is so annoying.

adreson:You probably weren't hacked. It's more likely that you have spyware/adware. Download Lavasoft Adaware or Spy-bot Search and Destroy and scan using those programs. kaity27: Sounds like you've got some malware / spyware.

Most likely a virus you downloaded while unsafe browsing.

Download spybot and AVG (or use spyware/virus removal programs of your choice) and run a system scan- it should remove the problem.

Alternatively, if you are using one of the many popular emoticon plugin programs, or msn messenger addon clients- these are a large source of addware- the things that cause the pop-up adds.

I suggest removing these programs and using mozilla firefox as your primary internet browser, along with adblock plus and script blocker.

All of the above suggestions are free to download and use- and will improve the health of your computing system substantially.

Just google any of the titles I mentioned- they should be self explanatory.

the_dad:ducttape411 seems to have the idea that Firefox will prevent a computer from being infected by a virus, spyware/adware, etc. That is definitely not true.

Some other good applications you should look into are ComboFix and HijackThis. Let them analyze your findings (post the log file from HijackThis and ComboFix). It doesn't help anyone much if you haven't scanned and found a name of the infection.
